LABORATORY TESTS OF FIELD ORIENTED CONTROL OF A DOUBLY FED INDUCTION MACHINE WITH FORCED DYNAMICS

Summary. Application of forced dynamics control (FDC) based on the field oriented control method for control of a doubly fed induction machine (DFIM) is presented in the paper. The idea of the FDC method and its adaptation to the control of speed and reactive power of the DFIM is described. The paper contains the laboratory test results of the DFIM working in three exemplary dynamic modes. The investigations of the influence of the moment of inertia on speed regulation and of the system of speed regulation with master control loop were performed and are described in the paper.

USE OF HYBRID OPTIMISATION ALGORITHM FOR ELECTROMAGNETIC PARAMETER ESTIMATION OF A SYNCHRONOUS GENERATOR

Summary. In the paper there are presented the results of electromagnetic parameter estimation in the d axis of a large power, synchronous generator when using different optimisation algorithms. The turbogenerator standard model expressed by reactances and time constants as well as including the phenomenon of core saturation was used in computations which were based on simulated and real dynamic waveforms of the chosen turbogenerator quantities obtained from measurements of the no-load generator steady state disturbed with a step change in the AVR reference value. The problem of determining the parameters of the machine under consideration was formulated in the form of the objective function for minimisation of which there was used a hybrid algorithm consisting of genetic and gradient algorithms. The computations were carried out with use of the Matlab-Simulink package.

SYNCHRONOUS GENERATOR FIELD-CIRCUIT MODEL AND ITS VERIFICATION BY MEASUREMENTS

Summary. A two-dimensional field-circuit model of a large power synchronous generator is presented in the paper. It allows determining electromagnetic waveforms in steady and transient states. Calculations were carried out using the measured waveforms of a TWW-200-2 type generator installed in the power plant Połaniec when subjected to a disturbance in the voltage regulator. The measured waveform of the field voltage under no load and at constant rotor speed was assumed to be the generator computational model input signal. The circuit model was verified on the basis of comparison of the measured and calculated stator voltage waveforms. The calculations were carried out by means of the finite element method using the program Maxwell 2D by Ansoft Corporation.

HYBRID ACTIVE POWER FILTER UNDER DISTORTED MAINS VOLTAGE CONDITIONS

Summary. The paper presents analysis of a hybrid active power filter under distorted mains voltage conditions. Comparison of this filter to the passive one is performed in the analysis. Influence of the supply voltage higher harmonics on operation of both filters is shown. The results of experiments carried out in a laboratory are given as well.

REDUCTION OF PASS BAND AMPLITUDE DISTORTIONS IN THE EEG FILTERING SYSTEM BASED ON SELECTED IIR FILTERS

Summary. The paper presents pass band amplitude distortion reduction for the EEG multi-band filtering system containing IIR filters. The distortion reduction method is based on such redesigning the existent filters that an additional condition should be fulfilled (to get as close as possible to the brick-wall band-pass filters).

STABILIZATION OF VIRTUAL POWER PLANT SOURCES

Summary. The paper presents investigations of a group control system enabling limitation of power swings of generating units operating in the power system (PS). The idea of the control system is based on the theory of system stabilizers. The output signal of the control system proposed depends on the values of the instantaneous power and angular speeds of distributed source generators. There are given the exemplary calculations for a 4-machine system containing three distributed generation sources.

NONLINEAR BOUNDARY CONDITION FOR ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD PROBLEMS

Summary. A brief introduction to modifying the well-known boundary conditions in electromagnetic field problems is given in the paper. It helps to reduce costs of the numerical analysis of an electromagnetic field. This modification forms the fourth boundary condition which is introduced on the basis of Maxwell’s equations and includes the previous works. This work presents the start point and aim for further analysis. The further work concerns one additional series term added to the conductive nonlinearity.

APPLICATION OF THE INVERSE DUAL TRANSFORMATION TO CURRENT-MODE FILTER CIRCUIT SYNTHESIS

Summary. In the paper application of the inverse dual transformation to synthesis of current mode circuits based on the circuits working in voltage mode is presented. In order to illustrate this problem, the known voltage structure of an elliptic filter was transformed and the current structure of the identical transmittance was obtained.

TIME-FREQUENCY RESPONSES OF PARALLEL CONNECTION OF PARAMETRIC SECTIONS

SIMULATION MODEL FOR TESTING ANTIALIASING FILTERS USED IN STRUCTURES OF THE POWER SYSTEM PROTECTION

Summary. The paper presents a simulation model and application “Filtry” designed for testing antialiasing filters used in structures of the power system protection. The application “Filtry” enables analysis and synthesis of the analog antialiasing filter digital models as well as simulation of the filtering and sampling process of the analog input signal which is taken by the protection from the power system by means of measuring converters (current and voltage transformers). Additionally, the results of tests conducted with use of the application “Filtry” are given. These tests comprise a comparative analysis of the features of lowpass filters of different types and orders, a study of the influence of changes in the filter cutoff frequency value on the speed of steadying its step response, as well as a synthesis of filters meeting the stated requirements in the frequency domain.

THE EFFECT OF ALIASING IN THE DIGITAL POWER SYSTEM PROTECTION STRUCTURES

Summary. The paper focuses on the effect of aliasing which may occur during the stage of sampling the analog measurement signals in digital protection-control terminals. Such signals (currents and voltages) are obtained from the power system by means of measuring converters (e.g. current and voltage transformers). The paper also discusses the methods of preventing the aliasing effect as well as the requirements determining the selection of the properties and features of the antialiasing filters used in the power system protection structures. The properties of selected types of analog filters are presented and compared. Additionally, a sample selection of the parameters of an antialiasing filter for the overcurrent function of protection is taken into consideration.

MEMRISTOR – OLD HISTORY AND NEW DEVELOPMENT

Summary. A brief survey of the properties of a memristor and memristive systems as well as the latest achievements in this field are presented in the paper. The memristor was postulated as a fourth missing circuit element in 1971. It was only a theoretical concept for many years. In May 2008 Hewlett-Packard Labs discovered that the memristor could be realized physically and find new applications to electronic systems.
