INFLUENCE OF CHOSING OF A CORE OF A CHOKING-COIL ON THE CHARACTERISTICS OF BOOST CONVERTERS
Summary. In the paper some results of measurements of characteristics of the boost converter obtained at the use of choking-coils with different ferromagnetic cores are presented. These results show that powder cores should be used in converters operated at small values of the load resistance, whereas ferrite cores - in converters operating at large values of the load resistance. Nanocrystalline cores make possible to obtain CCM in a wide range of changes of the converter load resistance.

ASSESMENT OF THE CONTENT OF HIGHER HARMONICS OF VOLTAGE AND CURRENT IN THE POWER STATION SUPPLYING TRACTION SUBSTATION
Summary. The paper presents the results of investigation and simulation of the voltage and currents in the power station equipped with the three-winding transformer 110/30/10 kV. The results of such research allow to determine the higher harmonics of these voltages and currents. The experiments have been performed for three levels of voltages the primary side 110 kV and two secondary sides 30 kV and 10 kV. The 30 kV line supplied the traction substation (6-pulse rectifier). The results of experimental and simulation investigations have been compared. The simulations have been performed using Microcap 8 software. They have been done for the short-circuit power of Szw = 400 MVA on 110 kV side of transformer. On the basis of these investigations we were able to determine the THDV coefficients of the voltages and currents for each level of voltages (110 kV, 30 kV and 10 kV). Taking into consideration that the measurement has been carried out in the typical supply system of traction substation the obtained results are representative for majority of traction substations.

MAGNETIC FIELD MITIGATION FROM SAGGING POWER LINES USING A SAGGING PASSIVE LOOP
Summary. The study presents in a tutorial manner methods of the calculation of magnetic fields in vicinity of catenary electric power lines without and with mitigation loops. A solution for modelling magnetic fields produced by sagging conductor, described by the catenary equation, is proposed. It is assumed that the equation of the catenary exactly describes the line sag and the influence of currents induced in the earth on the distribution of power line magnetic field is neglected. Moreover the mitigation effects due to the passive loop are also investigated, whereas the mitigation loop can be treated as a rectangular loop (two-conductor closed mitigation loop) horizontal located under the power line or as a closed loop with two sagging conductors.

APPLICATION OF STAMPS IN THE AUTOMATIC FORMULATION OF CIRCUIT EQUATIONS – PART I. BASICS
Summary. The paper presents a general algorithm for the formulation of systems of equations for linear and nonlinear resistance circuits (with controlled sources). The subsequent steps of the algorithm are presented along with a general implementation idea for Matlab. The proposed algorithm can be used for educational and scientific purposes (in the future after its extension to a wider class of problems). This is the first part of the paper, in which the base ideas of the implementation are presented.

APPLICATION OF STAMPS IN THE AUTOMATIC FORMULATION OF CIRCUIT EQUATIONS – PART II. NONLINEAR SYSTEM FORMULATION
Summary. The paper presents the second part of the explanation of how to imple-ment an algorithm for the automatic formulation of circuit equations. A formulation of the circuit equations bases on a provided topology, which is given as a list of consecutive elements, their types, parameters and connections. The algorithm applies the structures and notations presented in part I of this analysis. The main idea of formulating the system of equations revolves around the introduction of so called stamps for each element and then gathering them subject to voltage relations (called V-stamps) or the Kirchhoff Current Law (called I-stamps).

CONSTRUCTION ANALYSES OF EMI FILTER ON INSERTION LOSS PROPERTIES FOR COMMON MODE INTERFERENCE
Summary. Conducted noise reduction efficiency of EMI filter is expressed by insertion loss characteristics. The insertion loss characteristics of EMI filter are measured for common mode (CM) and differential mode (DM),The measurement takes into account parasitic parameters of filter’s elements. Insertion loss characteristics are measured according to standard CISPR 17 [1]. The paper examines the influence of main and parasitic parameters of EMI filter on insertion loss characteristic for common mode noise. The analyses of EMI filter construction was carried out without influence of parasitic coupling between filters’ elements. Moreover analyses was carried out for assumption that, geometrical dimension and position of filter’s elements are similar.

THE RECUPERATIVE BRAKING IN URBAN HYBRID VEHICLE WITH A REAR WHEELS DRIVE
Summary. In this article the results of brake forces distribution modeling is presented and its impact on the efficiency of recuperative braking. Kinematic model of the vehicle and the simplifying assumptions adopted in the modeling equations of motion describing the braking process are presented. Results of modeling of the baking process with variable vehicle load are presented. Braking forces of front and rear wheels and braking efficiency ratio are determined. On the basis of the analysis method of braking torque distribution between front and rear axle was proposed. This method ensures to achieve the greatest efficiency of recuperation.

DESIGN OF STOP&GO SYSTEM FOR MILD HYBRID PASSANGER CAR
Summary. Article describes design, develop and control of the Stop&Go system in Mild Hybrid Drive using supercondensator and starter with permanent magnets. Many researches and tests were done to determine real and then representative cycles of drive in Silesian agglomeration in Gliwice and Zabrze. Road researches enabled carrying out analysis of fluidity of traffic in cities and setting a percentage shares of movement micro stages (selected accelerations, driving with constant speed, braking and stopover). Researches of usefulness of supercondensators’ system as an energy source in process of starting an internal combustion engine were done. Usage of supercondensators as an energy source of starting led to improvement of economic indicators of the Stop & Go system. Supercondensator has a 1000 times bigger durability than PbPbO2 battery with around 40 times smaller mass. A starter with permanent magnets NeFeB in stator instead of induction winding was designed. A modernization of the starter is necessary because of frequent than normal start-up cycles of the ICE. A design of Stop & Go system was carried out of the basis of Fiat Palio with Mild Hybrid drive.

THE POSSIBILITY OF REALIZATION OF 13.56 MHZ/500 W CLASS DE INVERTER AT OPTIMUM COMMUTATION MODE
Summary. The possibility of realization of 13.56 MHz/500 W inverter at optimum commutation mode is presented in the paper. The 300 V DC power supply, optimum commutation mode and utility of the latest RF Power Mosfet are assumed. The actual class DE inverter literature state is discussed. Characteristics of limited values of inverter parameters ensures optimal commutation mode are described. Types and parameters of latest RF Power Mosfet are presented in the table. Procedure of evaluation of drain to source capacitance and it results are presented too. The conclusion is, that realization of the inverter is possible only if drain to source capacitance is lover than 150 pF.

AN INFLUENCE OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD FUNCTION ON THE LEARNING PROCESS OF THE HARDWARE IMPLEMENTED KOHONEN NEURAL NETWORKS
Summary. The paper presents an influence of the type of the neighborhood function (NF) on the learning process of the Kohonen neural networks. Four different NF and three topology have been compared. The objective was to determine which NF is the most efficient looking both from the transistor level implementation and the learning quality points of view. The effectiveness of the learning process of SOMs was assessed using two criteria: the quantization error and the topographic error.
